Boulder Opal and Sterling Silver Pendant
This uniquely beautiful boulder opal is set in a handmade setting designed to complement both the stone and the realities of modern wear. Three bails distribute the weight evenly across the cord, helping the necklace move comfortably and reducing stress on the area most affected by motion.
Boulder opal forms naturally within sandstone, giving it added strength and stability. I’m drawn to these opals for the way their host stone grounds the water and silica mixture that opal is made of.
A window in the back of the pendant reveals a peak at the back of the stone rather than completely enclosing it.
The sterling silver is darkened in patina to add more dramatic design to the stone.
Pendant has a nice weight to it and hangs from a 1.5 mm black leather cord with a sterling silver fastening and clasp.
