Bodark is also called Osage Orange or Bois d’arc, “bow-wood.” This gorgeous orange wood was commonly used to make archery bows. I collected some Bodark from a family friend’s ranch in Texas where this piece came from. Crushed up Turquoise fills the naturally occurring beetle-kill areas. The 1.5 mm leather cord winds through the piece with a thick brass top plate which measures 6 cm.
