Riveting Bangles

from $28.00

Hammered, formed, and riveted together, these bangle bracelets are a little different. Choose between sterling silver or solid brass.

  • What does “solid brass” mean? Brass is an alloy of copper+zinc. The color varies depending on the amounts of these elements. Red Brass or Yellow Brass are typically sold on the market- I have been using red brass. Often brass is plated to display a temporary shine that is easy on the pocket book and eventually chips off. I only use solid materials. The brass can leave a discoloration on the skin and will naturally become antiqued if left to its own respectable ways.

  • Sterling silver is an alloy of fine silver+copper. The copper adds an element of workability and spring otherwise to the very soft fine silver. Sterling silver is a bit shy and “blushes,” bringing that copper out. Polishing cloths or Scotchbrite can bring the confidence back into the metal, depending if you would like a shiny polish or a satin matte finish.

  • What is a rivet? A rivet is a type of cold connection that does not use solder or heat to join materials together. The metal is drilled and a tight fitting rod or tube is pounded on each side.
